Swift has launched a new international framework for consumer cross-border transfers, with UK banks such as Barclays, HSBC, NatWest, and Lloyds Banking Group among the first to go live.
This framework requires banks to display the exact fee and exchange rate to consumers before they make a low-value cross-border transfer, ensuring the full amount arrives without hidden mid-transit deductions.
The initiative aims to make the cost of international transfers clear from the start, while allowing the sender to track the payment so that they can follow every step of the transfer until it arrives.
The financial sector continues to evolve.
